Description: Our Lady of Guadalupe, patroness of the Americas, is sculpted according to the features of her image on the historic cloak (tilma) of Juan Diego in Mexico City. Wearing long elegant patterned robes, her outer mantle, lined with indentations of the stars of the constellations, covers her head. Her hands are gathered in a prayerful pose upon her heart. An accompanying angel reposes at the sculpture base with its arms outstretched, holding the hemline of Our Lady's dress. This bronze sculpture is presented in rich reddish golden brown and blue-green patinas.
